About the Candidate

I am Nathan Davies, and I firmly believe that public education is the best way to provide equality of opportunity for all children. I am a father, husband, coach, and small business owner who moved to Red Deer in 2002. Both my children are currently attending Red Deer public schools. I have been a member of School Councils, served on various boards, and helped start the fundraising society at my children’s school. I have coached badminton, volleyball, and basketball.

Candidate Priorities

Advocacy for Public Education	As a Trustee I will advocate for a strong public education system with sufficient and properly allocated funding that provides equality of opportunity for all children.
Focus on the Classroom	As a Trustee I will always ask the question how does this decision produce a better classroom for both students and teachers.
The Future	We live in a rapidly changing world facing challenges such as artificial intelligence, as Trustee I will advocate for making careful and well thought out decisions on how these technologies enter our children’s classroom.
Listen, Learn, Act	While we may not agree on everything there can never be any doubt that parents make decisions with the best interests of their children in mind. As a Trustee I will encourage conversations, we learn from those who we may disagree with.
