Red Deer Elections
For Mayor
City of Red Deer
I graduated from LTCHS, I have a BA in Communications, University of Calgary. I returned to Red Deer in 1991. My late husband Dan and I have three sons. I/we have one grandchild. My community involvement includes 9 years as a public school trustee with RDPSD (6 years as chair). I was elected to Red Deer City Council in 2004-2013, and reelected in 2021. I served as a Director for Alberta Municipalities Association 2010-2012. Numerous volunteer roles with a variety of community organizations.
Leadership | With decades of community work and public service, I know how to unite voices, set priorities, and move projects forward. |

Seeing the Opportunities and Seizing Them | It's time for boldness and innovation to foster economic and cultural growth. Staying in neutral is not an option. |
Safety, Housing, and Homelessness | Red Deer must be safe, vibrant, and open for business. Band-aid solutions are not good investments. We can't leave people unhoused and vulnerable on the streets. We can't ignore the concerns of businesses and residents. Red Deer deserves solutions.u |
Team Red Deer | I will lead the charge on championing Red Deer and collaborating with our municipal, provincial and federal partners to ensure that Red Deer is not left behind. Advocating for the needs of our city is important work. |
Fiscal Responsibility | The City must focus on increasing growth, monitoring spending, and maintaining our current assets. Financial stewardship requires difficult conversations and a realistic, balanced, transparent approach. |
