    ODISHAW, Shelley Lynn

For Red Deer Public School Division Trustee
    City of Red Deer

    About the Candidate

I am an avid volunteer and experienced advocate, deeply invested in our community. With a graduate and a current Red Deer Public Schools student, I’ve been engaged in education since 2008—serving on school councils, representing families provincially through the Alberta School Councils’ Association, supporting schools in countless ways, and gaining firsthand insight into the strengths, challenges, and everyday realities facing students, staff, and families.

    Candidate Priorities

Running with PurposeI’m running for Red Deer Public Trusett to strengthen the connections between home, school, and community, building trust, supporting inclusion, and keeping families connected to schools.
    Relationships as the Foundation
Strong schools rely on strong relationships. I want to see stronger connections that help kids thrive, families feel welcome, and teachers feel supported.
Inclusion and TransitionsInclusion works best when consistent from K-12; focusing on smooth transitions, proper training, and communication so all students feel included, understood, and ready to succeed.
Listening, Learning, ImprovingRed Deer Public School Division is one of the strongest divisions in Alberta - good can still get better. I want to make sure that every voice is heard to achieve great.
