    STEEVES, Rod

For Red Deer Catholic Separate School Trustee
    City of Red Deer
    Red Deer Area Ward

    About the Candidate

My 18 years of experience as Secretary-Treasurer of RDCRS have equipped me with the financial knowledge, leadership, and faith perspective needed to be an effective Trustee. In Canmore I helped establish a Catholic school district, a desire born from wanting my own children to be educated in a faith-filled environment. I am deeply committed to ensuring our Division continues to Make Christ Known to Children. This means fostering an environment where faith is joyfully and boldly proclaimed.

    Candidate Priorities

Faith & FormationTeach the Catholic Faith with Clarity, Prayer, Love and by Example, creating solid children, so they will Love Christ and be the light in the world long after school is done, announcing Jesus' message, fulfilling his Great Commission (Matt. 28 19-20)
TransparencyTrustees are elected to serve the stakeholders of the School Division. As a Trustee I will ensure stakeholders are fully informed about Board discussions and decisions.
Fiscal Responsibility and AccountabilityI will be a responsible steward of resources, always mindful that fiscal responsibility safeguards the resources available for the classroom.
Support for Teachers and StaffStudent growth is based on sound teaching practices. I will advocate for proper support, training, and tools to ensure success for all.
Building Strong School CommunitiesFamilies, parishes, and schools are stronger together. I will foster partnerships that create welcoming, thriving school communities.
