For City Councillor
City of Red Deer
I am a mechanical engineer at heart and love the way things interact, the cause and effect of life, how the slightest change of angle can cause a monumental shift in perspective. I like to approach problems, projects, and policies with an outside of the box mentality and ask the tough questions. I have worked in project management and maintenance management for the past 12 years. My hobbies include Historical Preservation, Rugby, Hockey, and Photography. I enjoy community events and live music.
|To support locally owned and operated business.||For decades Red Deer has prided itself on having a vibrant array of locally owned and operated businesses, I plan to incentivise and encourage new development and support existing businesses and to grow our economy by keeping the money local.|
|Fiscal responsibilities, spending and budgeting.||I feel that more emphasis is required for the long-term consequences of a global pandemic. Now that we’re dealing with the fallout, I believe a comprehensive change in the way we spend and save is fundamental to our city’s growth and prosperity.|
|Strategic approaches to crime prevention.||I have witnessed a decline in comfort and piece of mind that most Red Deerian’s feel on a regular basis due to the influx if crime and addictions that have ravaged our city. I plan to through community involvement to tackle this problem head on.|
|Community Involvement, Arts and Culture.||The preservation and presentation of culture is key to drawing people in and telling our story. From our native past, the settlers who chose to make Red Deer home, the artists who left their marks through architecture and music. Sharing and growing.|
|Historical sites including parks and recreation.||I believe that Red Deer needs to pay homage to our past by preserving historically significant sites as well as our public spaces. Allow the growth of community-based events and expand our network of walking/biking trails and recreational activities.|
