For City Councillor
City of Red Deer
My name is Dax Williams I am 35 years old, an entrepreneur and a father. I have proudly lived in Red Deer for nearly 20 years, but I have spent my entire life in the region. Having experienced every major benchmark of my life in this beautiful city, I am personally invested in its continued growth and success. I believe that a healthy city provides much of the infrastructure that holds together a prosperous community that facilitates growth in diversity, opportunity, and ability.
|Downtown Revitilization||The importance of bringing people downtown for everyday recreation and business cannot be overstated. Event planning alone is not going to bring our downtown back; we need usable infrastructure with improved features and accessibility.|
|Reassessment of City Land Development Policy||City involvement in residential land development ties up taxpayer dollars in projects better left to private sector firms and creates conflicting interest in development permits, bylaws, land use allowances.|
|Economic Revitalization||Thriving businesses and healthy economic zones attract new investment and boost employment prospects. By normalizing practices of assisting existing businesses in their growth, we bolster future development via ongoing supports and initiatives.|
|Advocacy For All citizens||The City of Red Deer needs to partner with the provincial government in setting a game plan to replace "The Hub" center . Community centers such as this are part of what makes Red Deer a thriving community where all citizens have a place.|
