Election Results Update – October 21, 2025

Ballot counting has begun for the 2025 Red Deer Municipal and School Boards Election.

Approximately 90% of mayoral ballots have been counted. In the Mayor’s race, Cindy Jefferies is currently in the lead. These results are preliminary and may change as counting continues.

Official results are required by Friday, October 24 at 12 p.m., but the Election team anticipates announcing final verified results tomorrow, Wednesday, October 22.

It’s Election Day in Red Deer

Today is Election Day, and voters are encouraged to cast their ballots for Mayor, City Councillors, and School Board Trustees.

Daily Update – October 18, 2025

  • Approximately 1,300 voters cast their ballots on Friday with the total number of advance voters sitting at just over 5,300 as of this afternoon.
  • This total includes clients of Safe Harbour who were provided an on-location voting opportunity today.
  • Voters are reminded that information for all candidates, including Mayor, City Councillor, Public School Trustee and Catholic School Trustee, is available here.
  • Special Ballot holders are reminded that the completed Special Ballot Packages are due at City Hall by 4:30 p.m. on Monday, October 25. 

Daily Update – October 17, 2025

  • Over 1,000 voters cast their ballots yesterday, bringing the total to approximately 3,500 so far.
  • Rebels hockey fans are encouraged to arrive early and stop in at the Harvest Centre to vote before the puck drops at the Centrium.
  • There are a few non-election events happening at Westerner Park this evening, so if you're planning to vote tonight and not attending these events, you may want to use the Baymont or iHotel locations to avoid the crowds.

Nomination Period Open for Red Deer 2025 Municipal Election

Prospective candidates for Red Deer’s 2025 Election are advised that the nomination period is now open, and candidates have until noon on September 22, 2025 to file the necessary paperwork, secure required signatures, and complete all preliminary steps.
